<aside> 🖊️ For this design studio, our group was assigned one of the four scenarios to work on, additionally, this milestone was divided into four stages, each to be work on together as a team. In this milestone I learned how a proper initial problem statement is written and how an objective tree should be outlined.

Stage 1: Refined initial problem statement and finalized objective tree.

The problem statement was formed after debating as a team and using our research as grounds to build this problem statement, ensuring to include the important functions, objectives and constraints associated with our design.

Stage 2: Design requirements and problem statement for a turbine blade

For our assigned scenario we were asked to design a wind turbine blade that is clean and sustainable, while effectively producing a large amount of electricity enough to power multiple cities in Sweden.

After conferring as a team on the objectives, functions and constraints that should be considered based on the assigned scenario, the problem statement was defined

Stage 3: Selection of top objectives for a turbine blade design

Based on our assigned scenario, the top three objectives for our turbine blade design were:

Efficiency

As one of the main objectives of the turbine blade design was to produce a large amount of electricity, efficiency plays a huge role in achieving this goal.

Sustainability

Sustainability is an important objective because if this turbine blade is going to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it needs to last long and be environmentally sustainable

Clean

In order for Sweden to achieve its greenhouse goals, every component of the blade should be considered clean, and this will thereby reduce Sweden's dependency on carbon extensive sources of energy.

Stage 4: Metrics for the turbine blade
